Welcome to Primary Montessori!    
My name is Valerie Church.  I am originally from the great state of Iowa.  My family moved to Charlotte, NC when I was in high school.  I attended and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a degree in Early Childhood Development and Elementary Education.  I had the opportunity to begin my career teaching kindergarten at a private Christian school in Charlotte.  I have had experience teaching 1st grade as well.   Most of my experience has been in traditional kindergarten in the public school setting.  When we moved to Florence, I had the opportunity to teach Montessori.  I was very unsure at the time if this was something I wanted to try.  I am so glad that I did!  I received my Early Childhood Credentials through the American Montessori Society in 2011.  Learning the Montessori method has taught me so much about being a facilitator and allowing the students to grow and learn, going beyond what I could even imagine. The Primary  Montessori classes consist of a 3K/4K/5K combination and I love working with these little ones.  They are so eager to learn.
