“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”
Welcome to Williams Middle School! My name is Heather Gaston, and I teach seventh grade English/Language Arts for the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program. This is my fifth year at Williams and eighteenth year in the classroom; prior to teaching middle school, I taught AP United States History and English III in high school. I am a 1997 graduate of Texas A & M University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with minors in History and Latin. After attending graduate school for studies in English literature and critical theory at the University of South Carolina, I recieved my teaching certification in English and Social Studies for grades five through twelve in 2001 from Montana State University-Northern. In 2009, I recieved a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on integrating the arts from Lesley University. In 2010, I recieved National Board Teacher Certification for Adolescent and Young Adult instruction in Social Studies. Most recently, I earned a second Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Coastal Carolina University in 2014. I am passionate about teaching and am grateful for the opportunity to shape the lives of our next generation. I look forward to working with you and your students!
