In the interest of increased security at our schools and in accordance with guidance from Law Enforcement and State of South Carolina regulatory agencies, the following security directives are in place for this school year.
1. Parents and other visitors not specifically on campus for the daily, routine operations of the school shall not be permitted into the building unescorted or without prior arrangements. Parents or Guardians that need to meet with the Principal, Teachers, Guidance Counselor, etc. will be required to make an appointment in advance. These meetings shall be conducted in an appropriate office or conference room and not in the classrooms or other areas of the school.
2. Principals are given the discretion for making exceptions to these directives for the purposes of tours, school open houses, special events, voting, etc. and any emergency situation.
These directives have been developed to promote the overall security of the campus and to minimize disruptions to the instructional day. Also, a school Principal has the legal authority to restrict or deny access to anyone for any reason in accordance with State Law.
