SFHS Recording Studio
(Audio Engineering Program)
The “Studio @ South” is fully-equipped with state-of-the-art technology. The program and facilities have been designed to mirror corresponding programs at local universities. In addition to learning about business and career connections, the SFHS recording studio will allow audio engineering students to engage in:
- Stereo recording
- Multitrack recording
- Remote/location recording
- Editing (multichannel and stereo)
- Live sound recording and mixing
- Mastering
- Audio for video post-production
- Web streaming technology
The studio is adjacent to a computer lab where related technology instruction takes place. The program also provides audio recording services for the ensembles Arts Magnet Program at South Florence including producing recordings for auditions, rehearsal tracks, and competitions.

- 27” iMac loaded with Pro-Tools industry standard audio-production software.
- Professional quality monitors & headphones
- Portable recording rig including Tascam DR-60DMKII audio recorder.

- 16 21.5” iMacs loaded with Pro-Tools industry standard audio production software.
- Promise Pegasus32 R4 16TB RAID System
- A wide assortment of professional microphones, shock mounts, wind screens, stands, & essential accessories.
- Extensive Auralex Pro Plus Roominator acoustic sound control throughout
- Professional studio instruments and amps from Fender, Orange, Yamaha, Roland, & Pearl.
