Welcome to Florence 1 Schools Extended Day Academy Program. We are anxious about the relationships we will build with our students, parents and the community, as these relationships will positively impact our students and yield greater results for our program. We have the power to encourage, motivate, change lives and change history. We feel that this program is an instrumental tool that will provide guidance, compassion and promote academic enhancement.
The mission of the Extended Day Academy is to offer many diverse opportunities for your child to learn skills in mathematics, art, writing, music, technology, sports, and much more! The Extended Day Academy provides a structured place to receive homework assistance, one-on-one tutoring, a snack, as well as supper.
Important note: After School Programs are not offered at every school within Florence 1.

October 2024 Intersession Camp
During Florence 1's Fall Break, October 7-11, 2024, the Extended Day Office will host an Intersession Camp from 7am to 5pm, Mon-Friday. The camp will be available at Carver Elementary School and RN Beck Child Development Center. The cost is $80 per child for the week and includes breakfast and lunch.
Applications are available in the EDA Office (500 S. Dargan St) and on the EDA website under Applications/Forms (please print the application and bring it to the Extended Day office to pay).
Registration will begin Monday, September 16th, and end Thursday, October 3rd. Applications and payments will be accepted in the EDA office Monday - Wednesday, from 8:00am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

The Extended Day Academy always strives to make things convenient for our parents. Please accept our apology for any inconvenience that prohibited you from using your credit card yesterday.
Until further notice, these are the procedures that we will follow.
- Payments can currently be made online through RYCOR. You must have your child’s student ID number in order to use this option.
- Credit card, cash or check payments can be taken at the Extended Day office located at 500 S Dargan St, Suite 100 with Mrs. Young Monday through Wednesday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
- Check and cash payments can be made at the schools, with the site coordinator, Monday through Wednesday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

2024-2025 Weekly Fee
We strive to provide high-quality after school care programming such as homework assistance, enrichment activities and a support system to our students and parents. The district has been extremely mindful of the impact on families associated with raising fees. To maintain our quality of care, and
to offer our highly qualified staff a competitive wage, an increase in program fees in necessary. The weekly fee of $80.00 will begin in the upcoming
2024-25 school year.

Earn your GED for Free!
Want to go back to school and earn your GED? Through a grant from the 21st Century Community Centers, the Extended Day Office may be able to help cover your tuition through Florence County Adult Education! For more information about this grant, please contact the Extended Day Office at 843-758-6046.
CCAMPIS Grant-Child Care Access
CCAMPIS Grant-Child Care Access Means Parents in School Florence Darlington Technical College (FDTC) has a grant (CCAMPIS) for the after-school program. You must attend FDTC to be qualify for this grant and be eligible for the Pell Grant. The Department of Social Service SC Voucher Program
The Department of Social Service SC Voucher program can help with Child Care financial assistance. The program offers federally funded assistance to qualifying families who are in need of child care in order to work, attend school, or participate in a training program. If you think you may qualify, please visit https://www.scchildcare.org/families/child-care-financial-assistance/ to see if you meet the eligibility criteria. If you feel you may qualify, there is a link to the child care application and the email address where to send the application along with all supporting documentation.

- All students enrolled in the EDA program must have an application on file.
- Fees:
- Child Development Center: 2:15 pm - 6:00 pm at $80
- Elementary (2:15 - 6:00) & Middle School (3:30 pm - 6:30 pm) at $80
- Intersession: 7:00 am - 5:00 pm at $80
- If pertinent information concerning a student changes, the parent or legal guardian is responsible for notifying the EDA administrative office, in writing, of the changes.

Billing Procedures
- If the weekly fee is not paid on Monday, a $20 late fee is automatically assessed for Tuesday and Wednesday only. On Thursday, your child will be dropped from the program.
- If I am withdrawing my child from the program, it is my responsibility to provide one (1) week’s notice, complete a withdrawal form and return it to the Extended Day office via email or I may drop it off at 500 S Dargan St, Suite 100. The form is found on the F1Schools Extended Day webpage (Departments, After School Programs, Afterschool Program forms, Withdrawal Form).
- If my child is out due to illness, it is my responsibility to notify the Extended Day office ((BWoods@fsd1.org) and/or 843-758-6046) immediately, to ensure the absence is noted. For the fee to be waived, my child must be absent 5 consecutive days and I must submit a doctor’s excuse stating the dates and reason for the absence.
- The Extended Day Academy utilizes a checkout system to ensure that each child is dismissed to the proper person at the end of the day. Children will not be allowed to leave the program unattended. There needs to be a written notice from the parent/guardian with signature on file if a child is to be picked up by someone between the age of 17 and 18.
- If my check is returned, I will be notified by the F1Schools’ finance department. The Extended Day Academy will no longer accept my checks.
