Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)
Effective July 1, 2021- June 30, 2022
Florence 1 Schools is participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2021 school year. Section 104(a) of the Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010 amended section 11(a)(1) of the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act (42 U.S.C. 1759a(a)(1))(the law) to provide an alternative to household applications for free and reduced-price meals in local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with increased levels of low-income students. This alternative is referred to as the Community Eligibility Provision. All students enrolled in the school/district may participate in the breakfast and lunch program at no charge to them. Families will not have to fill out meal applications.
Online Free and Reduced Applications for Florence 1 Schools
Students are eligible to maintain the same free, reduced or paying status from the previous school year for 30 days. If you submit a new application before the first 30 days of the school year, your child's status will change to reflect the new application. If a new application is not submitted within the 30 days, the benefits of your child(ren) will be eliminated.
Until your child's application has been processed, you will need to provide lunch money to purchase school meals at the regular price. Please allow ten working days for applications to be pre-approved and/or processed. Only 1 free/Reduced Application per Household.
Now you can apply online for your children to receive free or reduced-price school meals. Your application will be sent from a secure website directly to Florence 1 Schools, so you don’t need to worry about filling out a paper form.
