Mrs. Byrd is currently the Cosmetology Teacher at Florence Career Center.  She became a licensed cosmetology instructor in 2001. Mrs Byrd taught cosmetology for nine years at  Timmonsville High School. She servered as Lead Teacher at Virginia College for two years. In addition she has over 17 years of experience working as a cosmetology teacher and over thirty five years of experience as a cosmetologist.

Mrs. Byrd was named teacher of the year for Florence School District 4. Her most recent honor recently was to serve Florence Career Center Teacher of the year in 2017-2018. She currently servers on a number of cosmetology advisary borads including Florence Darlington Technical College, Dillon County Technology Center, and Sumter County Career Center.

As a cosmetology teacher she enjoys helping students reach their goals and dreams of becoming a cosmetologist.
