I would like for everyone to take a minute to congratulate one of our welding students from South Florence. Christopher Matthews placed 2nd in the Tulsa welding school competition. The judges said they went back and forth longer this year than any other and it come down to the smallest thing to decide 1st place. He took home a variety of prizes, including half off his tuition to Tulsa Welding School.
Congratulations on a job well done.
Aviation Standout!
Advantage Academy would like to congratulate "Jack" John Wilson for being accepted into the West Point Military Academy. Jack is currently learning to fly in our aviation program and hopes to build on those skills to one day pilot an F-35. "Jack is extremely motivated and driven,” said Aviation teacher Michael Rodriguez. “Jack made his desire to be in the military known from day one and continued to pursue that goal every day. He also has a huge interest in aviation and shows his excitement by applying himself to become the top of the class and then will do whatever he can to help his classmates exceed as well. It makes a teacher's job easy when a student has the drive and passion that Jack does for what you're teaching. It has also been humbling to watch him succeed.”
