    Workforce Literacy

    Florence County Adult Education partners with employers who want to improve the educational level of their current workforce. Courses and/or tutoring can be offered in flexible modes of delivery. Interested employers should contact Carol Hill at cchill@fsd1.org or 843.758.6411.

    Workforce Readiness Credentialing

    Interested employees can earn ACT WorkKeys workforce readiness credentials. Assessments include Applied Math, Workplace Documents, and Graphic Literacy.     Softskills Credentialing

    To be professionally successful, employees have to demonstrate professional behaviors. The WIN Essential Soft Skills Credential offers employees a credential they can put on their resume to build employer trust and confidence in them as a prospective employee. Soft skills assessed include communicating effectively, conveying professionalism, promoting teamwork and collaboration, and thinking critically and solving problems.     Digital Literacy Credentialing

    Florence County Adult Education offers support for adults wanting to improve keyboard skills and digital literacy. In addition, adults can earn digital literacy credentials through the Northstar credentialing program. Contact the McClenaghan testing center to schedule: 843.758.6409.     Integrated Education and Training

    Adult education students can simultaneously work on academic and workforce credentials. Florence County Adult Education offers students manufacturing and healthcare related options. For more information, call 43.664.8152 and ask to speak to a College and Career Navigator.

    Healthcare Pre-Apprenticeship

    For community members interested in getting started in a healthcare career, Florence County Adult Education offers a 30-hour pre-apprenticeship program, that engages participants, including ESL enrollees, in a supportive, blended learning experience. The program consists of 7 components: pre-enrollment counseling, enrollment, orientation, classroom instruction, offsite experiences, transition preparation, and transition. Enrollment and orientation will be offered in-person or online. Two-week instruction is delivered in-person with a simultaneous online platform-option.
