SFHS Video Studio
(Studio Production & Film Design)
The Broadcast Studio is equipped with professional video cameras and microphones, iMacs, and other equipment that helps contribute to exceptional broadcasts. The program produces BNN (Bruin News Network) as well as artistic film projects.
The program and facilities have been designed to mirror corresponding programs at local universities. In addition to learning about business and career connections, the SFHS broadcast studio allows students to engage in:
- Video editing using Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro X, Compressor, and more.
- Teleprompter use
- How to report the news in front of a camera
- Principles of professional journalism
- Remote/location recording
- Mastering a broadcast
- Web-streaming technology

SFHS Recording Studio
(Audio Engineering Program)
The “Studio @ South” is fully-equipped with state-of-the-art technology. The program and facilities have been designed to mirror corresponding programs at local universities. In addition to learning about business and career connections, the SFHS recording studio will allow audio engineering students to engage in:
- Stereo recording
- Multitrack recording
- Remote/location recording
- Editing (multichannel and stereo)
- Live sound recording and mixing
- Mastering
- Audio for video post-production
- Web streaming technology
The studio is adjacent to a computer lab where related technology instruction takes place. The program also provides audio recording services for the ensembles Arts Magnet Program at South Florence including producing recordings for auditions, rehearsal tracks, and competitions.
