My Motto:  “ Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get.”

Forrest Gump

Welcome to Advantage Academy 2021-2022 School Year

My name is Robbie R. Burns and I am the Early Childhood Education 1 & 2 Instructor and Introduction to Teaching Instructor.  I hold an Early Childhood Certificate from Northeastern Technical College.  I have a dual Master’s Degree from Webster University in Human Resources and Management and Leadership and a Dual Bachelor’s Degree from South Carolina State University in Family and Consumer Sciences and Child Development.  I believe in Forest Gump saying “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get.”  My philosophy in teaching rests upon this statement.

My job as an instructor is to provide our students with the best possible education.

My job as an Instructor is to promote positive learning because I believe learning should be fun and exciting.  I want my students' to have a zeal for learning with the mentality that it’s not what I have to do but it’s what I want to do.  I want my students to know that every day we learn something different.   I want to provide a strong foundation for them to build upon to become lifelong learners because we never know what Life is going to give us from day to day.
