• Shakespeare

In this unit, students are introduced to the life and art of William Shakespeare. Students begin with an in-depth study of Shakespeare’s early life, travels, and days in the theatre. Students use Google Earth to visit some of the most important locations in Shakespeare’s plays. Students also study Shakespeare’s contributions to the English language, the Globe theatre, and how Shakespeare continues to influence us today.

  • Designer Boxes

Measurement is a process that students use every day. In this unit on geometric measurement, students build on the work they have done with area and perimeter and extend it to three-dimensional solids. The focus is on solving packaging problems and, in particular, on investigating the measurements and characteristics of boxes. Throughout this unit on volume and surface area, students are asked to think creatively or "out of the box!"
