Originally from Florence, I grew up in Pamplico, South Carolina. I graduated high school from Hannah-Pamplico High. I, then lived all over the state of Mississippi. While I was there, I got three Associate Degrees. I received an Associate in the Arts and an Associate of Marketing/Business Management from Southwest Mississippi Community College. I also received an Associate of Fine Arts from Copiah-Lincoln Community College. I, then attended Mississippi College for three years before moving home and transferring to Francis Marion University. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a  Bachelor's of Science, in Art Education, in 2006. I also received a Master's of Education in Learning Disabilities from Francis Marion University in 2012.  In 2019, I earned a Masters's of Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina. I have certifications in Art Education k-12, and Media Specialists, with an endorsement in Gifted and Talented, from the South Carolina Department of Education. I also have dual certification in Georgia.

I taught high school at Lee Central High School in Bishopville, South Carolina from 2007-2009. I, then taught elementary art in all three elementary schools in Dillon, South Carolina from 2009-2013. I joined the Lester family in August 2013.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, painting, sewing, and crocheting. I have recently been taking summer classes in glassblowing. My husband is also an art teacher. We have one Pekingese and a gaggle of cats.
